An open letter

My friends at the Primalfoot Alliance have posted an open letter to the entire education system here in the United States. It challenges a new guideline that is being enforced in Hawaii. The school administrators are now requiring that children, who for decades had attended school barefoot, now wear shoes while attending classes. This is a step out of their past traditions, and is actually declared as such by the legislation’s biggest spokeswoman.

The Alliance argues that a barefoot lifestyle is a conducive aspect of childhood that can lead to a healthy adulthood. I agree wholeheartedly, and believe that barefeet should be allowed, not only in schools, but in other places that they are socially “unacceptable.” It is time for us, as human beings,  to take our barefeet and health back into our own hands.
