A welcome sight

Ahhh aren’t they awesome looking? Sure they are covered in dirt and dust but they look awesome and strong. That is the result of my first Barefoot run after last weeks mishap with a poorly tied huarche rubbing a blister into one of my toes. I had a very satisfying 2.5 mile run around the high-school track nearby. And no, it isn’t one of those soft squishy tracks. This was, in a few words, like running on gravel minus the occasional smooth spot. It is literally like running on unforgiving gravel. In fact I’d rather be in gravel. But learning to run on surfaces like these make smooth concrete a dessert. A piece of cake if you will. I love these surfaces because they keep me honest. They keep form in check. Plus the track, although a bit like a hamster wheel, makes tracking distance superbly simple.

Can’t wait for my next run after last weeks debacle and this awesome run tonight.

Til next time,
